OUR COMMUNITIES

Every community is a very special part of OUR. We make a point of personally getting to know each one of them. Our proposal is to deeply understand and experience their realities in order to bring to life projects for socio-economic-environmental development that make sense for the safeguarding of their culture and knowledge. Here, every project is developed jointly with the group and inspired by their goals and dreams. Remember, we only support communities in their initial stage of structuring through basic actions, but ones that make a huge difference. We work in weekly improvement cycles with the communities, using agile methodologies and Design Thinking, always updating the scope of work according to the needs and achievements of each one. It's a joy to have you here to get to know us, support us, and contribute!

NOSSO financially supports the educational, advocacy, and resistance activities of Terreiro das Pretas. Together with the community, we are developing an immersive tourism structure at Terreiro, allowing people from other backgrounds to learn educationally, socially, and culturally from the wisdom of the Pretas.

Through their work in recent years, the Santos da Silva family has managed to purchase a rural property, where they intend to collectively relocate and plant their own Arumã, reclaiming their ancestry. Their goal is to eventually welcome visitors who wish to learn from their culture and art. OUR supports the group materially and intellectually. The family is also a partner in the construction of CSARTE (Craftsmanship Sustaining Community) initiated by OUR.

With NOSSO, we aim to develop an agroforestry planting system to ensure our food self-sufficiency. Throughout the project, we also seek to improve and create new sources of income for the entire community, such as through natural products and the processing of medicinal herbs. This community is part of the CSARTE project (Craftsmanship Sustaining Community) created by NOSSO.

Quilombo Kalunga Monte Alegre (GO)

We are part of the oldest Quilombo in Brazil, recognized by the UN as the "first territory in Brazil preserved by the community." Our territory has been conserved and protected through our customs for over 300 years. With NOSSO, we aim to bring the Quilombo closer to the outside world in a healthy way, developing impactful businesses with a cause and income generation within the Quilombo, mainly including young people and women. This will improve our quality of life and enable our ancestral knowledge to contribute to society as a whole and become income for our Residents' Association through the KALUNGA brand.

We have a dream of multiplying the joy of having an Agroforestry system at home for people all over Brazil. With NOSSO, we want to start by bringing Agroforests to our neighbors here in the Arara Community so that together, one day, we can produce on a large scale collectively and thus sell our products with higher added market value to large companies, and perhaps one day produce our own cocoa as well.

With NOSSO, we aim to develop a cultural school and enhance our physical structure to increasingly enable immersive tourism within our Terreiro, allowing people from other backgrounds to learn educationally, socially, and culturally from our culture and knowledge. As a Terreiro, we conduct educational activities for children, youth, adults, and seniors to rescue and safeguard our quilombola customs.

With NOSSO, we aim to build the Rubber Tapper Museum next to our home and workshop, renovating the houses where everything began, so that we can educate not only children and apprentice artisans, but all visitors and people passing through about the history and importance of the Rubber Tapper in the Amazon. We want them to understand our value to art, culture, the economy, and the well-being of the world. With the museum ready, we want to welcome visitors to our space and further contribute to education. We are also partners in the construction of CSARTE (Craftsmanship Sustaining Community) initiated by OUR.
